Play It Backwards — 1966
In 1966, they played five reel-to-reel tape machines simultaneously — three forward, two backward — and mixed all of them into a single song. The first major rock song to use musique concrète.
About this design: “PLAY IT BACKWARDS” with “BACKWARDS” rendered as a mirror reflection. Below, a vintage reel-to-reel tape recorder with tape spiraling upward into a circular halo like a sacred geometry mandala made of magnetic tape.
For the ones who know that sometimes the future has to be played in reverse.
