Get back to where you once belonged.

In January 1969, during the most turbulent recording sessions of the band’s career — a month before they would break up forever — they wrote a song about going home. About returning to the place where the story began. About the impossible desire to undo everything that had happened and be young again in Liverpool.

They performed it three times on the rooftop on January 30, 1969 — the last day they ever played together. Each time, it sounded more like an instruction to themselves than a lyric.

Sometimes the best way forward is back.

About this design: Vintage British road trip illustration.
